Dr. Nego Roberts, DMD

Dr. Nego Roberts’s path to dentistry started on the clinical side of the chair. Raised in New York City, he trained as a dental assistant, then earned his associate degree in dental hygiene from New York City College of Technology in 2008. He also completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology and practiced as a dental hygienist for 13 years, focused on preventive care and patient education. Wanting to provide complete dental treatment himself, he entered Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in 2017 and earned his DMD in 2021.
After graduating, he completed a one-year General Practice Residency at NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull Medical Center in 2022, where he received advanced training in comprehensive dentistry, emergency dental care, oral surgery, restorative dentistry, implant dentistry and the treatment of medically complex patients. He then relocated to North Carolina, where he has served patients across Iredell, Mecklenburg, Union and Richmond counties. He continues his education through ongoing continuing education courses.
With more than 18 years in dentistry as an assistant, a hygienist and now a dentist, Dr. Roberts understands dental care from every side of the chair. He uses that perspective to listen closely and build treatment plans around what each patient actually wants. Dr. Roberts and his wife have two young daughters. Outside the office, he enjoys watching sports, spending time with his family and traveling, and he is grateful to serve the Statesville community.

Formerly Crouch Family Dentistry, now a home you can rely on
RelyOn Smiles Dental is an independent, community-focused private practice founded in 2026 when Dr. Nego Roberts took over Crouch Family Dentistry. His goal was simple: build a dental home patients in Statesville can rely on, where they are known by name and treated as partners in their own care.
Whether it has been years since your last cleaning or you are looking for a dentist who explains every option before recommending anything, RelyOn Smiles Dental welcomes new patients from north Statesville, Troutman, Mooresville and across Iredell County.
